Felt in Grimsby and surrounding areas, mainly from within 10 km of the epicentre. Reports described, "It was a loud tremor I thought a car had maybe come to close to the house or crashed on the street.", "heard and felt a rumble, thought it was someone banging on our window. Neighbours went out or looked out of windows to see what it was" and "there was one boom and a thud like jolt ".
